Birtle Lions Pooch Park is located just off 83 highway at the west end of Birtle and is a great stop for you and your Pooch to stretch your legs.

As a farming community Birtle area starts bustling in spring. Many local fairs, music events and markets come to life with the sunny days. Birtle offers groomed hiking trails, golf, disc golf, tennis and pickleball. Experience Geo cacheing (see: geocache.com) or have a swim in our sand bottom chlorinated beach located at the Birtle Riverside Park. In the Park you will also find one of 2 children's playgrounds in Town and just before the entrance to the park is our Pooch Park where your dog can run and play safely. Our Arts Center offers magnificent tours (see @birtlearts) or fish to your hearts content, either on shores of Birdtail River or rent a canoe from the Town Office, In Manitoba you will find perch, walleye and lake trout to name a few. The Birdtail is a great river to canoe or paddleboard on, both above or below the dam.

Birtle has a launch point on the north side of town along Kent street. In the Miniota area head to 1 mile west off 83 highway on road 78N to launch. At Hoopers Lake small boats can be launched at the beach area or head north to boat launch.

Prairie View has many geocaches as well as Adventure Labs in both Birtle & Miniota. Geocaching is a great outdoor activity for all ages. At geocaching.com you will find more information on how to play and the coordinates of some caches in the Prairie View area.

With many hills and valleys there are many spots to enjoy a ride on your sled. A popular area is the Birtle Elementary School Hill.

Birtle's location puts us well within driving distance from many National, Historical and Environmental sites of interest. Riding Mountain National Park consists of 2969 Sq. KMs and is home to a vast array of wildlife, all visible from your car or observation platforms. It is also home to some 40 Bison that roam free in the Lake Audry Bison enclosure. You can drive through the enclosure allowing you a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Canada's Great Plains history. Our Municipality has been featured in 'Manitoba Wild' by author Bill Stilwell.. Wildlife Management Areas exist for the benefit of wildlife and for people's enjoyment so try to fit in a little bird watching or just sit back and wait for our wildlife to come to you.
